I Can Hardly Wait
A Palm Sunday Reflection
Hello Friends,
I am sharing this (edited) post from last year because I think the message is worth thinking on again.
My Jesus willingly rode into Jerusalem to face His death so that my death can be but a passageway to forever with Him.
Imagine: Jesus knew what agony was coming, yet He went through with it anyway. The King of kings, the Creator of the universe, climbed onto a donkey and set His face toward Jerusalem where He knew He would die. Because He humbled Himself and endured death for me, my bodily death is merely a passageway to eternity with Him. No fear and no wondering if I will make it to heaven. Just Jesus taking my hand and walking me home.
I can hardly wait.
Those are four words only the Christ follower will understand. Looking forward to heaven is not a hopeless wish for death. It is not a morbid or suicidal attitude; it is hopeful. Joyful. Expectant.
We understand that no matter how fantastic our lives can be here, eternity with our Savior will be unimaginably glorious, unlike anything we can ever experience on earth in these jars of clay. We can only begin to imagine what we will feel like when we are free from grief and tears and fears and all the other struggles and heartbreaks that make earthly life difficult at times.
So through Christ, we can love our lives here, in spite of the trials, while simultaneously yearning for the moment the finite falls away and we step into His eternal presence. What a magnificent moment/day/forever that will be.
May your Holy Week be resplendent with meaningful communion with the Savior as you contemplate His sacrifice and thank Him for His great mercy in submitting to the Father’s plan of salvation. For without it, we would indeed be hopeless.
“Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?” — Matthew 26:53-54 NAS95
In Him,
Janice

I was sharing this joyful anticipation of spending eternity with our Savior, Yeshua, today with my bestie--who is also a believer in Him who died so we may have the ABUNDANT LIFE. She reminded me that we will not be playing harps and sitting on clouds but we will have "assignments" from Yeshua to serve and rejoice with Him and all the saints who serve Him as well. I pray He calls me to his rose garden--I have always loved growing and tending roses and in His eternal 'glory garden'--they won't have THORNS!!
HALLELUJAH--What a Savior we serve.
He defeated death! I praise His name.
