Just Because I Asked Him
Hello Friends,
The following story is going to sound made up. But it is true.
This morning while driving on the highway near my house, I noticed a gas station sign in the distance that displayed a price of $3.95/gal. for regular unleaded. In the following few seconds, as I drove along at 70 mph, I prayed a silent prayer, “God, would you bring that down?” Then I wondered if He would do it just because I asked Him to—and if it even mattered—but that maybe it would help someone who can’t afford the high prices. In that very instant I looked at the sign again, as if I had just blinked, and the price was $3.89. In the span of about 10 seconds from when I first saw the sign and breathed the prayer, the priced dropped. Just like that!
I can think of two explanations for this. One is that an employee just happened to change the sign at the very instant I prayed. The other is that God actually would do it just because I asked Him to. And actually the first does not negate the second, for God owns all, and He is good. He bends down to hear and answer the prayers of His people.
It was one of those moments when you ask God for something and are surprised when it happens.
Anyway, as I exited the highway and drove past a Walmart gas station, I noticed the higher price was still displayed.
Apparently, our Oklahoma Quik Trips listen to God and Walmart does not.
Blessings to you,
Janice

I agree.
So many times he made all the lights green on the way to church, so I wouldn't be late.
God is so good!
