Ocean Peace
And a photo shoot.
Hello Friends,
I am coming to you today from the Gulf where the water is sparkling and churning with some mild whitecaps as I write. Saturday evening when we arrived, it was gently lapping and looked more blue than usual. The temps have been pleasant and the breezes refreshing. It is like we ordered perfect weather and got it, praise be to the Lord who delights in blessing His children. These first two photos are from today’s morning beach walk.
Here are some words that washed over me soon after we arrived:
Ocean Peace
Waves lap
Sun beams
Water glistens
Heart fills
Soul breathes
Spirit rests.
— Janice Powell 2026This is the trip that my friends and I take every other year. As I mentioned in a previous post, we were not sure until days before departure who would actually be able to come. Seven of the nine of us made it this year. Family commitments kept the other two at home, but they know they are where they need to be in this season.
With so much discretionary time on my hands, I have done productive things like walk and sleep and eat. But I am also writing a bit and, as always, sharing about the book out there on the internet. In fact, the book participated in a beach photo shoot today. Our beach house decor provided some pretty settings for some shots, and the ocean, sand, and shells added a certain coastal ambience. See what you think.
While I agree that a walk on the beach is soothing, I know Someone who soothes the soul unlike anything or anyone else can. His name is Jesus.
I saved the next one for last because I want to leave you with the assurance that the message of the book will indeed help you to love more and worry less. That is because the message is Jesus who is love and is the steadying opposite of worry. And ever so much more.
Thank you for honoring me by scrolling through all these photos. I never tire of looking at this book and being amazed at what the Lord has done. I feel as though He gave me a priceless gift in allowing me to write it. If you have your own copy, I pray you experience His presence and peace in every word on every page as I have while being immersed in it for years. May He do with it what He wills.
In Christ,
Janice
