I just shared this on Facebook and will post it on notes later:

Over the years, I have seen a bit of shade thrown on celebrating Christmas—that Jesus wasn’t born on December 25, or that God doesn’t tell us to celebrate Jesus’ birth. Well, He WAS born, and He was born to die, so if He wasn’t born, He couldn’t have died, and if He hadn’t died, He wouldn’t have been the perfect sacrifice for our sin or risen from the dead, and if He hadn’t been the perfect sacrifice for our sin, we would be dead in it, and if He hadn’t risen from the dead, He wouldn’t have defeated death for us and made us alive in Him. Seems like His birth as a human is kind of important. We don’t celebrate the date it happened because of the date it happened. We celebrate THAT it happened.

Your testimony behind those two declarations brings them even more to life, as if that's even needed. How comforting to remember that in the darkest times, His light and love shines brightest.
